Motorway lighting to be permanently switched off a part of M1

Motorway lighting is to be permanently switched off on sections of the M1 to reduce carbon emissions -saving 810 tonnes of carbon.
The Highways Agency plans to switch off and remove lighting between junctions 10 (Luton) and 13 (Milton Keynes), from 17th August and via phased removal concluding autumn 2012,

Even the riots don't stop us...
